Silver and Bronze Medals!

We won a Silver Medal for our Syrah Viognier 2022 and Bronze for our Syrah 2022 at the recent Royal Queensland Wine Awards (the “Brisbane Wine Show”). 

A huge congratulations to winemaker Andy Williamsand the team at Hidden Creek.Handpicked fruit from the estate, destemmed only with no crushing to tank, sealed for 7 days to commence Carbonic maceration (also how we make our Shiraz Nouveau by the way.)

After 7 days, alcoholic fermentation commenced and then Andy hand-plunged twice a day to the end of fermentation. During this time 2% viognier juice was added in the typical Rhone Valley style. Wine was then pressed out to French Oak Barrels where it completed malolactic fermentation, before it was matured in barrels for 9 months.Both wines were also highly commended by the Australian Wine Research Institute Adelaide. 

The wine is bottled and will be labelled soon for a release in spring 2023, and of course, there will be priority forwine clubmembers (who will also be the first to know when its ready to purchase).
