Situated in the beautiful rugged high altitude hills of Queensland’s Granite Belt (at 980 metres above sea level, about 3 hours drive from Brisbane), our estate has hot summers and bitterly cold winters. This climate together with the arid granite rocky soils draws similar comparisons to inland European regions such as northern Spain, the inland south west of France around Cahors and Gaillac, and the upper Rhone Valley in France. These regions have a tradition of delicious characterful wines that are wonderful accompaniments to food. At Hidden Creek we have adopted the inspiration of these regions.

Viognier - the powerful white variety that hails from the Rhone Valley in France
Marsanne-Viognier – a traditional white wine blend from the Rhone Valley
Verdelho - a delicious fresh white
Tempranillo - the elegant but powerful red variety of Spain;
Shiraz-Viognier – a blend originating in Cote-Rotie - the “roasted slope” in the northern Rhone Valley
Moscato – a fruity tangy deliciously fresh style for after a meal

Hidden Creek produces small quantities of high quality wines with regional and varietal integrity. Grapes from our vineyards are hand-pruned and hand-picked at optimum times. Our winemaker handles small batches using traditional methods. Modern equipment and premium imported oak barrels ensure consistent high quality. At 900m above sea level, our vineyard runs along a north facing ridge and this enables full ripening of our grapes.
